Description:
Spoleto is a town in Umbria region, Italy. It is quite old town that once was populated with ancient Umbri. Thanks to reach history Spoleto can offer a lot of interesting. First of all we should say about Santa Maria Assunta cathedral of outstanding beauty, it was built in 1067. Other notable buildings are castle Rocca Albornoziana (symbol of the town), majestic bridge Ponte delle Torri (230 m in length, 82 m in height) that is a former aqueduct, and tall medieval tower of XII century (La Torre d’Olio). These are not all attractions of Spoleto. For example, there is a Spoleto Museum in the castle, on the nearby hill there is Franciscan monastery of XII century. Several festivals are held in the town, one of them is Festival dei Due Mondi.
Climate
Spoleti climate is Mediterranean with haot and dry summer and mild rainy winter. The coldest month is January, temperature usually doesn’t fall under +4C.Transport
You can reach Spoleto by train from different Italian cities: Perugia, Florence, Bologna, Rome and Ancona. 60 km away from Spoleto there is Sant%27Egidio airport. Also there are several buses run from Rome and Perugia to Spoleto.
