TRENTO
Description:
Trento is a city in Trentino Alto Adige region and the capital of the same name province. Trento used to be important Roman settlement, its name in latin sounded like Tridentum which means “three-tothed” probably because of three hills that surround Trent. City has architecture of all periods, from Roman to modern. On the main square called Piazza dl Duomo there is San Vilho Cathedral, a majesty building devoted to city protector. Trent has numerous churches and palaces, the most famous are Case Cazuffi-Rella and Palazzo delle Albere. The first impresses with its murals and arches, the second with its unusual form and museum. Also castle Castello del Buonconsiglio and many towers rise above the city. Trent is not a typical Italian city, it is a little bit German.

Not far from Trento there is G. Caproni airport. Trento is connected with North and South (Austria, German, Bolzano, Verona) by railroad connections. Funicular Hölzl links the city with mountain commune Sardanha. You can get around Trento by bus.
