Description:

Rimini is located on the Eastern coast of Italy and it is the capital of the Rimini province. It is a well visited town on the so-called "Adriatic Riviera". This city is one of the most famous seaside resorts in Europe where many nations flock to its beaches and enjoy its nightlife. It is sometimes called the "Miami of Europe". Rimini offers more than great beaches and another facet of this city is its culture and history. The city was founded in the Roman times and there are vestiges of art and architecture left, starting with the Tiberius bridge to the Augustus Arc. Powerful families lived in Rimini in the Middle Ages and even Leonardo da Vinci stopped in this town. The famous director Federico Fellini was born in Rimini and there is a museum dedicated to his life. In recent years, Rimini has also become a very well-know fairs and conferences center.

Climate

Rimini has a semi-continental climate influenced by the proximity of the Adriatic Sea. There is plenty of sunshine in the summer, mild weather in the autumn and winter. The autumns and winters can also be misty.

Transport

There is an airport close to Rimini, the Federico Fellini airport but other close by airports are the ones in Forli, Bologna, Ancona. Rimini has 6 accessible railway stations. There are also some bus lines that connect the center of Rimini to the neighboring cities of Riccione and Catolico.
