Description:

Salou, a Spanish city, which belongs to autonomous community of Catalonia, is a famous sea resort and tourist centre of the community. It is situated less than 100 kilometers from Barcelona, on the coast of Costa Dorada. Not only long sandy beaches, but a variety of sport activities and theme parks attract tourists all over the world. The most famous beaches of the resort are это Llevant Beach, Platja de Ponen, Platja dels Capellans, Platja Llarga, all of them have a Blue Flag, which shows their high environmental and quality standards. Due to its location in Catalonia, official languages there are both Spanish and Catalan. Port Aventura , the biggest SPA, resort and Aquatic Park in South Spain, is situaten un Salou. Park is divided into several zones or “worlds”, there are also held parties and festivals.

Climate

The Mediterranean climate of the city is characterized by several specialties – on the Costa Dorada is colder then on the Costa del Sol. Salou is situated on the 2 m over the sea level is cooling by Mediterranean breezes. All in all Salou’s weather is sunny, warm, without any rains from June to September.

Transport

Transport: There are everyday RENFE company’s trains from Barcelona to Salou, start at 05.00 and end at 21.30; journey time – 1.30 hrs, single ticket price is 5-7 euro (regular trains). Also you can get there by Plana company’s buses (departure at 8.15, 13.45 and 20.15 from Barcelona); from Salou is organized regular bus transfer from 06.00 to 23.00.
