Description:
Seville is one of the oldest cities of Spain and even Europe, the capital of the autonomous community Andalucía. According to the legend the city was founded by Hercules. Carmen, Figaro and Don Juan lived in Seville. Triana, one of the city districts, is known as the place, where was created the famous Spanish dance – flamenco. Seville is famous for it’s local holidays and theatrical processions, for example during Fería de Abril, a week-long day and night festival, or before Holy Week, when one can see long processions followed by huge baroque floats. You can find free maps and public transport timetable in many languages at tourist offices all around the city. The working day in Seville begins at 10.00 am and ends at 21.00 pm, with a beak from 13.30 till 17.30 – 18.00. However big shopping centers work without any break, from 10.00 am to 21.00 pm. Post offices open from 8.30 am till 20.30 Mondays to Fridays. Official currency there is euro. Foreign currency can be exchanged at banks, Mondays to Fridays, 8.30 – 14.00-14.30. Few banks work on Saturday mornings, but here are 24-hour automated teller machines (Servired, 4B).

Seville is situated on the plain of the River Guadalquivir, which crosses the city from north to south. In Seville there are 4 circular bus lines (С1, С2, С3, С4) and 4 straight bus lines. Every bus stops on next stations - de Jerez, Plaza de la Encarnación, La Barqueta, Prado de San Sebastian. One-way individual ticket costs 1.10 euro, although you can buy 10-journey ticket, card for different public transport, unlimited ticket for 30 days or special tourist unlimited tickets for 1 or 3 days. All the buses generally run until 11:30pm, but there is a number of night buses. Tram rout in Seville is very short about 1.3 km, you can buy tram tickets using ATM machines or at the stops. Special buses to Seville airport depart from Santa Justa Railway station (06.15 am – 23.00 pm).
