Description:
Zaragossa (also called Saragossa) is a fifth biggest Spanish city, the capital of Autonomous community of Aragon. All historical periods of Zaragosa are represented into it’s splendid architectural heritage. The tree main places of interested are Catedral-Basílica de Nuestra Señora, its interior frescos were created by Goya, the Cathedral of San Salvador, a magnificent church where are combined different architectural styles, the Palace of Aljafería. Speaking about modern architecture the most remarkable buildings were constructed for EXPO 2008, a World%27s fair on water and sustainable development. There was born Francisco José de Goya, famous Spanish romantic painter and printmaker. Zaragoza is home of well-known local festival - Fiestas del Pilar, celebrated in honor to Virgin Mary appeared there. The event is celebrated every year for a week from 12 of October, at the same day is also celebrated Columbus Day, or a Day of Spain.
Climate
Zaragoza has a Continental - Mediterranean climate, due to the river Ebro, which crosses the city. The winter there is very cold, in contrary, summer temperatures are high (35-40 C). It rains a little during the spring.Transport
Transport: The first tram line, about 13 kilometers, has opened recently, in 2011 and the government plans open the next one only by 2013. An interurban bus network operated by TUSSA Company has 47 lines; the same company organizes Tourist bus journeys. In Zaragoza there is a network of commuter trains (Cercanías). The Airport of Zaragoza is located 10 kilometers from the city, the access to the airport is provided by urban autobus line from the Station Paseo Marí¬a Agustí¬n, 7, one-way single ticket price is 1.60 euro.
