Description:

Palma or Palma de Mallorca is a capital of Autonomous community of Balearic Islands, and the biggest city-port of Mallorca Island, which in 1960-th was turned into a big sea resort of Spain. In Palma live nearly half of the island’s population, furthermore The Royal Family have been spending there summer time for a long period. Due to it’s past Palma has impressive architectural monuments. Old City district refer us to Arabic culture; Arab Baths, constructed at the beginning of the 11th century, are one of the most beautiful Palma’s buildings.

Climate

Palma is situated on the south-east of the Mallorca Island on the Mediterranean sea, on the 13 m over the sea level. Like the hole island, Palma has Mediterranean climate. The annual temperature is 16 C, in January, the coldest month, - 15 C, in August, the hottest one, - 30 C.

Transport

Transport: Aeropuerto de Palma de Mallorca, the nearest airport o Palma, is situated 8 kilometers from the city and organize regular flights to the continent and to the other islands. From airport to Palma circulate autobuses, the government plan to launch a tram line to the city. Also is very popular shipping. Palma’s metro consists of on line (L1) with 9 stations, starts at 6.15 and ends at 23.00. There are 34 bus lines in the city.
