CANICO

Description:

Caniço is fast growing region in Portugal situated on the eastern peninsula of Madeira. Up to sixties Caniço was a small village on the mountain slope, divided into isolated farmsteads and a fishing port. But in 1967 investors found out that the area is favorable for tourists and started large site development and building. Today Caniço is a popular resort with plrnty of hotels, restaurants and shops.
