Description:

Cascais is a Portugal town situated 20 km from Lisboan. Cascais is the part of so called “Portugal Riviera”, it is washed by Atlantic Ocean and the river Tagus. Cascais together with Cabo de Roca is the most western point of Eurasia. This town turned into a popular resort thanks to hot termal springs and mild climate. The resort is considered to be luxurious, it is favorite holiday place for many celebrities and there are plenty of gorgeous hotels, restaurants, casinos and in addition local beaches are recognized as one of the best in Portugal. Among landmarks the most interesting are the Dormition of Virgin Mary Church (Igreja da Assuncao), the palace Palacio de Conde de Castro Guimaraes and park Palmela. The most famous resort beach is Guincho.

Climate

Climate in Cascais is unique. In summer it is sunny and hot here, all other seasons of the year are also very comfortable.

Transport

You can reach Cascais from Lisboan by train than follows the line Linha de Cascais, travel time is about 45 minutes.
