BADGASTEIN

Description:

Bad Gastein that is known as a mountain Monte-Carlo, because of the oldest mountain casino located here, is not the cheapest resort, it was long since chosen by aristocratic public. It is better to beginners don`t try to get here - mountain-skiing lines are difficult enough, however in Bad Gastein people come not only for thrills. The resort is famous for the unique thermal spring water enriched with radon which wonderfully cure of the different illnesses, whether be it old wounds or rheumatism. Here traditionally gladden the eye beauty of the Alpine nature, besides, in the center of a resort there are fine falls - a symbol of Bad Gastein.

Climate

The mountain-skiing season lasts here from December till April. A climate is mountainous, with mild winter and cool summer (average temperature of July is about 14 °).

Transport

The nearest airports are in Salzburg (96 km), Innsbruck (195 km) and Munich (260 km, Germany). There is also a railway station.
