ANNECY

Description:

Annecy is a wonderful city of eastern France which lies on the shores of Lake Annecy, 60 km. to the south of Switzerland. It is often called “the Venice of Savoie” due to the fact that the center of the city, built around a medieval castle, is dotted with rivers and canals running out the azure lake of Annecy at the foot of the Alps. Among the attractions of the town is- a former residence of the Dukes of Geneva , a medieval prison d%27Izl, the Church of Saint-Maurice. The city is beautiful enough make a walk through its narrow flowered streets a real pleasure, and its surroundings offer the guests a unique opportunity to engage in active leisure activities.

Climate

A mountain climate of Annecy is mitigated by the presence of a large lake. The winters are cold, with average January temperature about 2 ° C. The average summer temperature is around 20 ° C.

Transport

The nearest international airport is in Geneva, and a way from it will take about 35 minutes rather on a bus or in a car. The railway station connects the town with Paris, Geneva, Grenoble and Lyon.
