Description:

Perpignan is located in 15 km. from the Mediterranean coast just north of the Franco-Spanish border. As the historical center of the province of Roussillon, situated on the fertile plains, very suitable for wine, a city was alternately in the hands of the Spanish and French nobility. Among the main attractions of the city- is a fort Castillet, the Cathedral of St. John (a sample of southern Gothic style ), the palace of the medieval kings of Majorca. The railway station of Perpignan is known for Salvador Dali who worked over its design.

Climate

The climate of Perpignan refers to the Mediterranean type. Winters are mild (frosts long only 4 days a year), and summers, refreshed by a northern wind Tramontane, are hot and dry.

Transport

The Rivesalte airport is located 10 km. from the city center and serves flights to Paris, London, Manchester and Southampton.An alternative airport in Spanish Girona, located an hour%27s drive from the city by car.
