TOULOUSE
Description:
Toulouse is the fourth largest city in France with a population of 437 thousand inhabitants, located in the southwestern part of the country, between the shores of the Atlantic Ocean and Mediterranean Sea. Once it was the richest city in France thanks to the indigo dye, which the masters of Toulouse obtained from the plant "woad". Toulouse is now called the "pink city", although it is connected with the special architecture of its central part, executed mostly in red brick. Toulouse is a nice city on the banks of the tranquil river Garonne, which does not lose its importance today as a France’ center of aerospace industry with good university traditions.
Climate
City%27s proximity to the Pyrenees and the Mediterranean Sea has defined a moderate type of its climate. This means that the summers are moderately hot and winters are moderately cold. They say the best time for tourist visits to the city- is spring or early autumn.Transport
Toulouse is served by the airport Blagnac, mainly oriented to the communication with Paris (every 30 min.), although flights are also committed to Frankfurt, London and Munich. The town can be reached by TGV train from Paris (about 7 hours, price from 18 €), Bordeaux (2 hours) and Marseille. Public transport within the city is represented by the metro (only 2 branches, the price per trip 1.5 €), buses and trams. It is worth noting that the center of the city consists of narrow streets, so it is more comfortable to travel there by foot.
