Chamonix Mont-Blanc is a friendly alpine town in eastern France, which lies on the river Arve at the foot of Mont Blanc. Chamonix is situated in 90 km. from Switzerland and coupled with Italy by a tunnel, dug through the Mont Blanc. Therefore, the easiest way to get here is by car. The nearest airport is in Geneva. And the nearest railway station is located in Lafayette, about an hour from Chamonix, connecting the region with Paris and Lyon. Urban public transport is represented by a network of buses.
