Klaipeda, one of the most ancient cities of Lithuania, located in its western part, is the largest port of the country which vicinities in the XX-th century have won glory of a popular resort. A consequence rich and a city interesting story was that here live today not only Lithuanians, but also Russian, Poles, Byelorussians and representatives of other nationalities. In total currently the population of Klaipeda totals about 188 thousand persons. Visit quarters of stone warehouses oldest of which have appeared in a XVIII-th century, and also unique city museums, somehow: the Sea museum located in a fortress, the Museum of Hours with its most interesting exposition, the Art gallery which was located on one of the most beautiful city streets, show of dolphins and others. In Klaipeda there passes set of interesting cultural actions, for example «the Klaipeda musical spring» or Jazz festival of the Klaipeda lock which annually involve set of tourists.

In a city it is possible to come on the ferry from Germany or Sweden or to arrive by the plane following to Palangi, Vilno or Kaunas, whence to Klaipeda you will be taken by the long-distance bus or a train. On a city it is better to move by the bus or a taxi.
