Description:
Palanga is the resort city located in the northwest of Lithuania, stretched on 25 km along coast of Baltic sea. According to 2001 Palanga totaled about 17 thousand inhabitants; its name means a low fenny place literally. The city can be proud long and an interesting story: in documents the city is mentioned for the first time in far XII century. In spite of the fact that Palanga first of all is known as a resort city, it is interesting also by the sights among which it is necessary to note especially the magnificent Museum of amber numbering about 4,5 thousand of exhibits and the Botanical garden, considered as one of the most beautiful parks of the Baltic States. The magnificent church of Rise of Maiden Maria and a pier which is leaving in the sea on whole 400 m and considered as a symbol of Palangi, too will necessarily draw your attention. It is not necessary to worry concerning where you can settle down: The city will offer you a considerable quantity of the diversified hotels, campings, rest houses to make your visit by the most comfortable and pleasant.
