OHRID

Description:

Ohrid is a city on east coast of lake Ohrid in Republic Macedonia. The basic income item of a city is tourism as in a city it is a lot of monuments and picturesque houses. A cut of that, Ohrid and lake Ohrid have been included in the list of objects of the world heritage of UNESCO. Near to a city on the bank of lake the orthodox monastery of Sacred Nauma is located (Shine-naum), where the sarcophagus Sacred, devoted the life to healing of patients till now is stored. Also on the bank of lake there is a Monastery of St. Pantelejmona where the surprising collection from 800 icons XI-XIV of a century written in the Byzantian style is collected. One of symbols of Macedonia is John Kaneo%27s standing on rock over lake decorated frescos of the end of XIII century the church. Also it is possible to visit other fine churches of a city, a museum of icons and an archaeological museum.

Climate

The average temperature reaches +18 - +22 degrees of Celsius in the summer. The hottest month — July. The swimming season lasts from May till October, water temperature in the summer: at coast - 24-26 degrees of Celsius, on depth - +21 degree of Celsius.
