Description:

Lausanne is the capital of Vaud canton, it is situated in the western part of Switzerland and is the second largest city on the Lake Geneva and the fifth largest in Switzerland. Originaly the city was crossed by the Flon river that is now under the ground, the open riverbed you can see only at the Reapon Square. The official language is French. Local area is famous for its vineyards. City main landmarks are the Gothic St Francisco Church (Église St-François), cathedral Cathédrale Notre-Dame de Lausanne, Beaulieu castle, Historic museum and Olympic Museum, among the nature attractions are the Mon Repos park and the Élysée Park.
