Description:

Saas-Almagell is an urban community in Switzerland in the Valais canton. It is surrounded by Alps and lays in the Saas River valley on the height of 1600 m, southward of all other villages (Saas-Fee, Saas-Grund and Saas-Balen). The highest peak of the area is Almagellerhorn mountain. Mountainous location provides favorable conditions for cattle breeding and influences on the tourist industry development. In summer great amount of travelers and alpinists come here. In Saas-Almagell there plenty of hotels, restaurants and also sport and entertaining centers. 300 km of excursion routes in mountains, golf courses, tennis corts, football fields and stunning nature beauty are all at tourists’ disposal.

Climate

Inspite of the fact that Saas-Almagell is situated in the cool and warm climate zone, it is considered to be one of the driest areas of the whole Europe.
