DAVOS

Description:

Davos is a resort town in Switzerland with the population of about 12 thousand people. It is situated on the Landwasser River in the eastern part of Graubünden canton. Davos is the most alpine town in Europe (it is situated on the height of 1560 above sea level). The town attracts tourists both in summer and winter thanks to perfect location and developed infrastructure. Some time ago Davos was mecca for skating, today it holds annual Spengler hockey cup (the oldest of its kind in the world). Also Davos is famous for its annual Forum that gathers political and economic elite from all over the world. Visit Kirchner Museum found in honor of German expressionist artist and Winter Sports Museum (Zügenschlucht) that is the picturesque ravine and alpine railroad line.

Climate

Because of its alpine location Davos has quite cold weather. In winter temperature fall to -18C, in summer it is about 19C. Sun is shining and views are stunning.

The nearest airport is in Zurich, you can reach it from Davos by bus, car or train.
