GRINDELWALD

Description:

Grindelwald is a resort town in Bern canton in Switzerland, situated on the height of 1000 m above sea level. Grindelwald was found more than thousand years ago and today it is famous for its alpine ski infrastructure: tracks for beginners and professionals and in addition extremely difficult trial – glacier Eiger. For average tourists Grindelwald has another kind of attractions: hills for sleigh. In summer you can simply walk admiring wonderful views and mountain air. Be sure to have a journey on a mountain train to the famous Jungfraubahn mountain with observation ground and alpine railway station.

Climate

Because of its alpine location Grindelwald has quite cold weather. In winter temperature fall to -18C, in summer it is about 19C. Sun is shining and views are stunning.

Transport

You can reach Grindelwald by train from Interlaken (Berner Oberland Bahn railroad). Railroad Wengernalpbahn links the town with famous mountain Jungfraubahn. Actually, the only one and the best way to reach Grindelwald is by bus or car from Interlaken that is connected with main cities of the country.
