LEUKERBAD

Description:

Leukerbad is a Switzerland village situated in the Valais canton on the height of 14 m above the sea level. The official language is German. Leukerbad is the balneotherapeutic health resort, it has numerous termal springs, but the best thing about this place is its impressive landscapes. Absolutely stunning place is the Gemmipass that connects Leukerbad with the nearby commune Kandersteg. Exactly here passes the most popular unmounted tourist rout and in winter people come here for skiing. Not far from the pass there is a lake Daubenhorn with crystal pure water. From there you can enjoy the view of picturesque Matterhorn and Mont Blanc peaks. The biggest termal centers of Leukerbad are Burgerbad Therme and Lindner Alpentherme.

Inspite of the fact that Leukerbad is situated in the cool and warm climate zone, it is considered to be one of the driest areas of the whole Europe.
