Description:

Lugano is a city in Ticino canton in Switzerland near the border with Italy. Lugano stands on the shore of the same name lake and surrounded by picturesque mountains. Thanks to warm summer and crowds of celebrities visiting this place, Lugano earned the title of Switzerland Monte Carlo. Lugano has landmarks of national significance, for example St Lawrence cathedral and St Mary Church, Town hall (Palazzo civico), Cantonal Library, Cantonal Museum of Natural History, Cantonal Art Museum and more. Except cultural heritage Lugano has wonderful natural sights, the most significant is Lugano Lake, without any doubts. Part of it is situated in Italy, another part is in Switzerland. Monte San Salvatore and Monte Brè provides stunning views on the city, also you can ride a bicycle or just have a walk.

Climate

Climate is continental. Winter is cold and wet with frequent snow falls. Summer is hot, dry and even sultry.

Transport

Lugano is served by its own airport that is situated in the municipality Agno not far from the city. Also in the distance of 60-90 minutes drive there are Milano airports that provide more airlines. Lugano is connected by railroad communications with other cities of Switzerland and Italy. You can get around the city by bus.
