Description:
Zürich-Horgen is the capital of Zürich canton, situated in northeast part of Switzerland. City stands on the Limmat River not far from Zürich Lake and surrounded by Alps. Zürich appeared in Roman times with the foundation of fortifications. Today it is the most populated city in Switzerland, the main language is German. While staying in Zürich be sure to visit 4 main cathedrals: Grossmünster, Fraumünster, Predigerkirche and St Peter Cathedral on which you can see the biggest clock in Europe. Zürich has various museums and galleries, Opera Theatre. In summer Sächsilüüte (“Guild Parade”) is held, it is the national celebration that symbolizes the end of winter and the beginning of spring. Zürich is connected with James Joyce, famous writer, who lived and died there.

Zürich climate is wet oceanic with four seasons of the year. The coldest months is January (average temperature is -1C), the warmest one is July (18C).Transport
Public transport is very popular here, everybody uses it. Zürich has the network of local trains S-Bahn, trams and buses. Railway station Zürich Hauptbahnhof is the biggest in Switzerland. Zürich Airport is 10 km away from the city center in the town Kloten.
