AMBLESIDE
Description:
Ambleside is a town in Cumbria, in North West England. Historically within the county of Westmorland, it is situated at the head of Windermere, England%27s largest lake. The town is within the Lake District National Park. Ambleside has a relatively large number of pubs for its size with some ten pubs and bars within a quarter mile radius. They are supported by the tourist industry, so essential to the town, as well as the student population associated with the University of Cumbria.
Climate
Because Ambleside is in the northern part of England, it has a much milder climate than the rest of the country. In the winter, they experience a lot of cold days with cloud cover. There are many rainy and snowy days. However, in the summer time, the temperatures are very pleasant, usually hovering around 18 degrees Celcius.Transport
From London’s Euston Station, the train journey takes between 4 and 5 hours (including one change of train in Oxenholme). Services stop in Kendal and Windermere and you can take a bus or taxi from there to Ambleside.
