Ayr is adjoined by Prestwick that is known for its golf courses and aviation history (it is home to the international airport, the one and only in England where Elvis Presley landed). Also Alloway – the birthplace of Robert Burns – is very close to Ayr.
Climate
Climate is temperate maritime as anywhere in Great Britain. Summer is cool (no more than 15 days in July temperature reaches 25C) and winter is mild (light frosts occur no more than 50 nights a year). Precipitations are relatively small.Transport
Ayr is served by Glasgow Prestwick International Airport, it is easy and fast to get there on a train. Several buses run to Glasgow and some other cities in the area.
