Climate
Cardiff lies within the north temperate zone and has an essentially maritime climate, characterised by mild weather that is often cloudy, wet and windy. Summers tend to be warm and sunny, with average maximum temperatures between 19 °C and 22 °C . Winters tend to be fairly wet, but rainfall is rarely excessive and the temperature usually stays above freezing. This is the only major airport in Wales and is situated some 12 miles to the south-west of the city in the Vale of Glamorgan.Cardiff Central railway station is a major hub for many services and is in an ideal location being very close to the main city centre attractions and is in close proximity to Cardiff Bay.
