Description:

Kingston upon Hull is a city in Yorkshire with the population of about 260 thousand people. It was founded in 1299 by Edward I and since that time was a market town, military port, whaling and industrial center. In spite of the terrible bombings during World War II Hull has preserved its various different times architecture: Old town with cobbled streets, mills and docks, magnificent merchants houses, warehouses and laconic modern buildings. While staying here, visit Museum Quarter and Oceanarium, walk around the Marina and numerous parks, find the oldest Grammar School in England, the smallest window and Robinson Crusoe, who started his incredible journey right here. It should be kept in mind that Hull dwellers has unusual accent.

Climate

Climate is temperate maritime. Weather during the day is changeable, the area is generally sunnier and drier than other parts of the country. Summer is cool (only 10 days in July rich 25C temperature) and winter is mild (temperatures under 0C in January are uncommon).

Transport

Kingston upon Hull is served by Humberside International Airport (25 minutes drive, flights to Amsterdam and Aberdeen).Direct trains go to London (2,5 hour), Manchester (2 hours), Sheffield, Doncaster and York. Also there are numerous buses run to many cities in the area. From Hull you can even go to Rotterdam and Bruges on a ferry.
