Description:

Newbury is a city in England in Berkshire on the Kennet River with the population of about 45 thousand people. Newbury is adjoined by Thatcham. Except numerous old structures that preserved in the city you can enjoy Donnongton Castle ruins with impressive gates, Highclere Castle with interesting collection on Egypt archeology (castle is open for visitors but it is actually home for Lord family) and also a small chapel with wall paintings (explore it during the daytime as there is no electric light). Moreover, Newbury is famous for its racecourse and numerous parks and farms.

Climate is temperate maritime as everywhere in Great Britain. Summer is cool (average July temperature is 14-24C) and winter is very mild (in January temperature usually doesn’t fall under 0C).

Railroad and bus communications connect Newbury with almost all parts of the country. There are direct trains to London, Exeter, Plymouth, Reading and more. City center can be easily explored on foot, also public transportation network is well developed.
