Swansea is the second populous city in Wales (170 thousand people). It is situated on the shore of a fantastically beautiful bay. On these territories archeologists find things dated to the Stone Age, the city itself appeared on the trade way of Vikings, in 19th century Swansea became the leader in copper production and then gained fame as a spa resort. During the wartime many buildings were destroyed but there are still many attractive things: medieval ruins, sandy beaches, observation points, interesting cultural events, parks, gardens, museums and galleries. Also there you can taste unusual seafood dishes and special kind of lamb. You can’t but admit that Swansea has particular atmosphere and memorable character. It should be kept in mind that Swansea dwellers has an unusual dialect that you have to adapt before mutual understanding will appear.

Climate is temperate, Usual July temperature is 20C, in January it doesn’t fall under 0C. Precipitations are abundant, Swansea is even called “the wettest town in Britain”. The driest period is from June to August.Transport
Numerous buses run to Cardiff, London and Heathrow. Trains can deliver you to any part of the country. Also there is National Cycle Route 4 that passes through Swansea and connects it with London, New Port, Port Talbot and many other places.
