Description:
Warwick is a city in Yorkshire on the Avon River with the population of about 25 thousand people. Nearby lands were settled since Neolithic period and the city itself was found in 914. Visitors of Warwick are mainly attracted by the Castle that was laid in 1069. The historical part of the city has preserved many buildings of Tudors period and 17th century. John Tolkien, who engaged in the Saint Mary Church, probably was inspired by the city and made it the arena of some important events in his famous saga. From Warwick you can easily get to another beautiful historic town Stratford-on-Avon.
