Description:

Kamloops is a Canadian city situated on the south of British Columbia. Kamloops stands on the Thompson River near Kamloops Lake. Representatives of Indian population still live there, they gave the name for the city. Kamloops is home to City Art Gallery, Western Canadian theatre and British Columbia Wild Life Park (found in 1965). Thanks to it developed sport infrastructure Kamloops holds various sport competitions. Not far from the city there are few alpine ski resorts, one of them is Sun Peaks Resort.

Climate

Climate of the area is semiarid with short mild winters. However when arctic air bursts through mountain chain temperature can reach -30C. In spite of northern location of Sun Peaks Resort of Kamloops summer here is warm and dry, temperature can reach 30C.

Transport

Kamloops is important transportation hub thanks to it location on the Trans-Canadian highway and highways 4 and 97C. Also Kamloops has its own railway station and small international airport (it is developing at the moment). Buses run around the city.
