Description:
Kelowna is a Cnadian city situated on the south of British Columbia. From Indian language the name of the city is translated as “grizzly bear”. Not far from Kelowna there is Okanagan Lake, according to the legend it is home to monster Ogopogo. Okanagan Lake is the main landmark of the area, it attracts oarsmen, swimmers, kite lovers and simple people who love camping holidays. In winter tourists come to the alpine ski Big White resort, it is situated 55 km from Kelowna.
Climate
Climate of the area is semiarid with short mild winters. However when arctic air bursts through mountain chain temperature can reach -30C. In spite of northern location of Sun Peaks Resort of Kamloops summer here is warm and dry, temperature can reach 30C.Transport
Kelowna has its own international airport but doesn’t have a railway station. You can use Kamloops station that is 90 minutes drive from Kelowna. Buses run around the city and to Vancouver and Kamloops.
