Description:

Whistler is a resort town on the south of British Columbia province in Canada. It has the population of only 10 thousand people. This place is picturesque and colorful thanks to mountain chains, lakes and rivers. More than 2 million people visit Whistler annually, generally for skiing and mountain bike. During Olympic Games in 2010 Whistler held skeleton, bobsleighing and some other competitions. In Whistler area there are quite a lot of bears. They trained to come to people and find food by opening cars and stealing it. The more interesting staying in Whistler!

Climate

Climate in Whistler is wet temperate with cool summer (average temperature is about 20C) and mild winter (temperature usually doesn’t fall under -4C).

Transport

Whistler is situated on the British Columbia Highway 99. There is railroad communication between Whistler and northern Vancouver but it is tourist or excursion like as trains are vintage and tickets are expensive. Usual trains run to Jasper. Buses go to Pemberton and Squamish. The nearest airport is in Vancouver, 140 km from Whistler.
