Description:

A small seaside resort in Costa-Rica that is situated in two-hour ride from its capital San-Jose. Jako is a coastal town and is notorious first and foremost for its unique nature: it is surrounded by parks and reserves, the most flora and fauna rich of them are: Caño Negro National Wildlife Refuge, Carara National Park and Manuel Antonio National Park. One can enjoy the beauty of the local nature by going on a boat safari right into the jungle or climb up Irazu Vulcano and breath its healing air, visit Turtle Island. Jako also offers a great beach rest, one can try surfing diving, fishing, beach and water sports. Those who are fond of a quiet rest can find it one of Jako’s secluded beaches. The most popular beaches Herradura, Jacó и Hermosa make the town one of the world’s top destinations.

Climate

Tropical, there are two seasons: dry season lasts from December till April, all the other months are the rainy season. Temperature throughout a year usually fluctuates around 21°C.

Transport

The nearest airport is situated in 60 km in Papagayo. One can also get to Jako by car using a ferry. One can get around the town by bus, rented car or hitchhiking.
