DOVER
Description:
Dover is the capital and second-large city of Delaware. It is situated on the St. Johns River and has the population of about 35 thousand people. Historical district was built in 1718 according to the plan of William Penn. Dover has preserved many old structures, for example Old State House, Golden Fleece Tavern, Opera House (1904) and more. Also there are several interesting museums as Sewell C. Biggs Museum of American Art, Agricultural Museum and Village, Air Mobility Command Museum in addition to Children’s Theatre, casino and horse racetrack. Not far from Dover there is Dickinson plantation and a few good beaches.
Climate
Climate is humid subtropical with strongly marked seasons. Winter is cool with light snowfalls. Summer is hot and humid, July temperature often riches 30C. Precipitations are well spread around the year.Transport
Dover has two small airports. Journey to Baltimore, Washington and Philadelphia will not take much time. The best way to move around the city is to use a car. Public transportation network is also quite developed.
