Bloomington is a vibrant city in Indiana with the population of about 80 thousand people, the half of them are Indiana University’s students. Except University there are plenty of schools, colleges and institutions of various specializations. During the whole year things are really zipping along here: theater and concert halls receive artists from all over the country (folk music is especially popular in Bloomington), various events and celebrations are regularly held, for example Afro-American Art festival, Chocolate festival, Antique festival and more. Historic downtown is full of restaurants, unusual museums and galleries and city walls dazzles with murals made by street artists. There is even a Tibetan center and two real Buddhist stupas! In the suburbs there are limestone quarries, expansive forests, several parks, popular Hoosier National Forest and the biggest state water body - Monroe Lake.
