LAKE CHARLES
Description:
The fifth largest city in State Louisiana is situated on the Charles Lake, Prien Lake and Calcasieu River. This is an important cultural, educational and industrial center. A couple of universities, great number of theatres, museums, festivals and restaurants make Lake Charles very attractive to the tourists. The city is growing and developing continuously, in Bloomsberg Businessweek Magazine’s opinion this is the best place in Louisiana to raise a family. Civic Center on the lake is the heart of city’s life. Colorful festivals (the most famous is Contraband Days), theatrical performances, concerts, exhibitions and lectures are held there. The most interesting is Mardi Gras Museum that presents extravagant costumes and the Imperial Calcasieu Museum with its 400 year oak.

Climate is moderate, seasons are feebly marked, Average temperature in July is 28C, in winter it is usually no less than 10C.Transport
In the city two airports function: Chennault International Airport and Lake Charles Regional Airport which provides flights to Houston and Dallas. There is also a big port that serves liners. Citizens themselves use busses to move around the city.
