ELKO
Description:
Elko is a city in Nevada with the population of about 20 thousand people. Today it is surrounded by ghost-towns that were abandoned by their citizens for some reason. These are Cornucopia and Rabbithole. Elko is home for annual National Cowboy Poetry Gathering held in January and National Basque Festival held in July with strongman competitions, dances, traditional food and wine. In the old pioneer hotel there is a Western Folklife Center that have for an object to popularize traditional culture of people from American West.
