Jamaica is a suburb of New York City that doesn’t have anything in common with famous hot island. There situated several federal buildings including Jamaica Civil Court, shopping malls and theater multiplex. While walking along Jamaica Avenue you will see plenty of historic buildings, various shops, Library, King Manor Museum and many other things. Hillside Avenue is full of cozy restaurants, Indian shops and groceries. Actually Jamaica is multinational city as there are immigrants from Russia, Puerto Rico, Dominica, India and some Arabian countries.

Climate

Climate is humid subtropical. Winter is cool and somewhat snowy with average January temperature of -5C. Spring and autumn are unpredictable. The can be both warm and chilling. Summer is not very hot. Average July temperature is 25C.

Transport

There is railway station in the city. Jamaica is connected with New-York city by subway line. You can go to Bronx, Rockaways and Manhattan by bus. Also Jamaica is home for John F Kennedy International Airport which is one of the biggest in the world.
