Description:
Lake Placid is a village on northeast of New York state near Adirondack mountains and Lake Placid with the population of about 3 thousand people. It is surrounded by forest reserves and mountain peaks and during the whole year tourists and outdoorsy travelers come here. In 1932 and 1980 Lake Placid was the site of Winter Olympic Games. There are perfect golf courses and skiing tracks and there you can fly fishing and experience dog sledding. World Cup Events are held regularly. During the bright Winter Carnival a huge Ice Palace appears in the town.

Climate is mild. Summer is warm and humid with average July temperature of 20C. Winter is cool and snowy with average January temperature of about -10C. Precipitations are somewhat equal in each month.Transport
The nearest airport is in Adirondack. You also can use international airports in Albany and Burlington. Intercity connection is provided by Continental Trailways company. You can easily explore Lake Placid on foot but take a car if you want to go to suburbs.
