The population of Hickory of about 341,851 people makes it the fourth largest metropolitan area in his state. Touching on the history of this little town, it is important to mention that in the year 1850, Henry Robinson, built a tavern of logs, which was located under a large Hickory Hickory. The city, "Hickory Tavern" was established in 1863, and soon this name was changed to "Hickory" and finally fixed in 1873.
