MIDLAND
Description:
This is a city in Texas with the population of not much more than 100 thousand people. Midland was found in 1881 as main base on the road from El Paso to Pacific Railroad. Today it is known as the city where George Bush spent his childhood. Midland had a nickname “the Tallest City” because during the building boom a lot of skyscrapers were constructed there. Part of them are tenantless at present time. Citizens are entertained by local symphony orchestra and theatre troupe. Inside Midland College there is an Art Gallery. Twice a year to stiffen the spirit of Midland art community the city organizes cultural events with the participation of guest masters such as Andre Watts, the Flying Karamazov Brothers, Ballet Folklorico de Mexico de Amalia Hernandez or Golden Dragon Acrobats of China. Regularly free public lectures by eminent scientists and writers are held. Various city museums are worth visiting.

Climate is semi-arid. Summer is long and hot with average temperature in July of 32C. Winter is short and milt, average January temperature is -1C.Transport
Midland is served by International Airport and developed bus network. Several highways passes near the city.
