TACOMA
Description:
Tacoma is a distinctive port city in Washington with the population of about 200 thousand people. There are plenty of parks among which Point Defiance Park with zoo and oceanarium, Wright Park designed in English style and coastal zone with bicycle trails and cozy restaurants. Many distinguished architects lived and worked in Tacoma and famous Tacoma Narrows Bridge even became familiar example in textbooks as it fell in 1940 because of projecting mistakes. However it was built again and together with numerous original buildings make unique appearance of the city. Museums are worth a visit, the most interesting are Art Museum and Glass Museum. Also Tacoma is home to University of Washington Tacoma. Picturesque Mount Rainier National Park is only 90 km away from the city.

Climate is subtropical continental. Average July temperature is 24C, in January it usually doesn’t fall under 2C. The driest period is from April to September.Transport
Tacoma is served by Seattle-Tacoma International Airport also there is a big railway station. Public transportation system is well developed as you can use buses, light rail and ferries. There are buses and rails to Seattle and Olympia that are only 50 km away.
