PORTO SEGURO
Description:
A municipality in the south-eastern Brazilian state with a population of a bit more than 150.000 people. It was officially founded in 1891, yet first reference dates back to 1500. It’s then that its territory was discovered by the Portuguese who constructed here Igreja da Gloria, the first church in the country. Porto Seguro can boast of the sights of unique beauty, the list of the most interesting of them includes: the Indian settlements, the reserve Fora Shelf , the 40-metre high rock Barreiras Brancas de Juacema, the Villa river garden, the Buranhem river and the islands. Yet Porto Seguro is mainly famous thanks to its wonderful beaches that extend up to 90 km, the most popular of them are Praia de Apa-Fogo, Praia d’Ajuda, Praia de Pitinga, Praia de Aracaipe, Praia de Mucuge, Praia de Aracaipe. Clear water and rich flora and fauna make it the perfect place for diving. The incredibly beautiful sandy coast, numerous bars, cafes and restaurants, active nightlife make Porto Seguro one of the most attractive world tourist destinations.
Climate
Humid tropical. April, May, June and October receive the heaviest rainfall. The driest months are August, September, January and February. Yet there is no exact distinction between seasons due to the influence of the sea. Temperature throughout a year fluctuates around 22-24°C. January, February and March have the most of sunshine.Transport
There is Porto Seguro International Airport that is located in 2 km from Porto Seguro. But bear in mind that there are no buses to the airport, one needs to take a taxi. One can use them, as well as buses to get around Porto Seguro. There is a well-developed road network that connects Porto Seguro to other Brazilian cities.
