The classic stone architecure of the property dates back to the mid-19th century. The Osteria has been recently renovated and adapted to current needs, while maintaining its original style typical of the Southern Alps. It is situated in a sunny and very quiet peripheral area near Bellinzona and Lugano.

The Osteria Ritrovo dei Passeggeri is located at 800 metres above sea level, in the middle of nature with a marvelous view over the Lago Maggiore and the Ticinese Alps.It offers accommodation in a typical rustic style, with wooden interiors and antique furniture. The chef prepares local cuisine and barbecue recipes from grandmother’s time. The Osteria lies in the Valle Morobbia, which is located in the heart of the Canton Ticino, in a favourable position to reach all the valleys, lakes and surrounding towns within a short time. The Valle Morobbia is ideally suited for hiking (with snow shoes in winter), cycling, mountain biking and horseback riding. The difficulty of excursions is medium to low both in summer and winter thanks to the excellent trails available.
Area information
The Valle Morobbia is rich in minerals, and in the past it has been exploited by iron mining. There is a trail linking the local iron mines and the Maglio di Carena (the Carena forge), where the ore was first smelted and then forged into iron tools. The forge was recently excavated by an archaeology group, and now has a number of interpretive signs. The area is also rich in flora and fauna typical for the Southern Alps.You can reach Bellinzona and Giubiasco in 10-15 minutes; Lugano, Locarno and Ascona in 20 minutes. Milan and Zurich are a 2-hour drive away. The area is also being served by public transport.

The hotel restaurant offers classical, traditional cuisine of the Ticino Canton including cheese, salami, meat, vegetables and fruit skilfully prepared on a grill. The experienced chef adapts to the season by creating tasty traditional meals.The restaurant is open from 09:00 to 24:00.
