This Renaissance castle was built in 1630 and was owned for centuries by the Starhemberg family. During the past years it was turned into a classy hotel by its new owners, the Thiery family.

Naturally, the Wachau can also be discovered from a boat. The Danube and its beaches are a popular recreation area. The proximity to Vienna gives you many opportunities even in bad weather. Dürnstein is also an ideal stopover on the way between Salzburg and Vienna.
