Since 1908 Hotel- Restaurant "Zum Schwarzen Bären" (Black Bear Inn) is owned by the Pritz Family, but its history even dates back to the year 1609. Then, 300 years ago, the house was named "Whärzhaus zum Schwarzen Bären". Today, the arched ceiling of the guestroom is still a visible reminder of these former times when the room was used as stalls for the horses which pulled the ships up-river.In recent times, the treasured country guest house at the Western entry to the Wachau Valley, has become quite famous, particularly for its excellent food.Here in Emmersdorf there is always a focus on down-to-earth regional specialities.
