The beautiful island of Usedom is located in northeast Germany. 445 km² in size, its varied landscape was formed during the Ice Ages.The highest peaks along the steep coast line are the Streckelsberg (56 m) in the coastal resort of Koserow, and Langen Berg (54 m) near Bansin. Along the coast to Oderbucht, a wonderful 42-kilometre stretch of white, fine sand runs from Swinoujscie to Peenemünde.The Baltic Sea has regularly received top grades by the EU with regard to its water quality.On the mainland, embedded between long hill chains and broad meadows and forests, you find countless lakes both large and small.
