Area information

Agistri is a peacefully remote and beautiful island in the Saronic Gulf, just one hour from the Athenian port of Piraeus and minutes away from the most well known and cosmopolitan islands of Aegina, Hydra and Poros. Agistri is the smallest of the Saronic islands with three main villages: Skala, Milos and the agricultural village of Limenaria. Due to its size and tranquillity, Agistri is sometimes described as the best kept secret of the Saronic Gulf. The main tourist resort is Skala, dominated by the large white church of Agion Anargyron situated close to a sandy beach. There are numerous Greek tavernas and cafe bars as well as a couple of small clubs. The next village of Megalochori or Milos is the capital of the island. Its scenic tiled lanes, traditional cafes, windmill and stone-built houses contribute to the ambience of the island. On the west side of the island you will find yourself in a magical place that is in absolute harmony with the green of the pine trees and the deep blue of the sea. It is worth visiting the graphic harbour of Mariza and exotic landscape where the most beautiful beach of the island, Aponisos, is situated. The third village, Limenaria, gives you the opportunity to admire the stone houses, cypress and olive trees, melon fields and the picturesque village taverns.
